Ultra Small and Extra Cheap Night Vision Discovery
A night vision that is cheap for everyone, that’s the news from University of Florida. New development in OLED technologies let researchers to a new discovery of film of OLED material that converts Infrared light into a light—same thing happens with a regular night vision.
Most night vision devices today use massive amounts of electricity — often several thousand volts, according to So — and heavy, glass lenses that maintain a vacuum to make the night come alive. So’s device takes a radically different turn, replacing glass with thin plastic, eliminating the vacuum and using energy-efficient, organic LEDs. (Discovery News)
Except, the difference is that this product will be cheap and accessible to everyone for a fraction of a price. Most important that it is so thin that you might see future cars, cell phones, as well as other devices adopting night vision as an addition to your regular features. Hopefully we will see this discovery on our store shelves soon.
